How to join us

The choir welcomes adult male members of any age and singing has been shown to be a healthy, creative and fun activity. Choir members learn about their own voice and develop their musical skills through working with our musical director and with other choir members.

You can learn to sing in a wide range of styles and genres, have the opportunity to participate in performances that contribute to a wide range of community projects and bring pleasure and happiness to yourself and others.

With your interest and enthusiasm we are confident that we can help you over those first tentative steps, many members come to the choir with little or no formal training. It is not a requirement that you can read music, our musical director can undertake a simple voice test with you and see that you are placed in the correct section of the choir.

If you would like  to check us out before deciding why not come along and listen to one of our rehearsals. Should you like what you hear then we can offer you six weeks training with the choir absolutely free of charge; that is usually long enough for someone to make a decision about  joining us. It is rare for people to join us for those six weeks and then drop out, singing is so addictive!

Once you are a full member there is a monthly subscription of £10, this is usually paid by standing order and our treasurer will provide new members with the relevant paperwork and advice.

All we ask is for your commitment to regular attendance at our weekly rehearsals; these are held on Thursday evenings  between  7.00  and 9.00  pm at  Moorland Park  Methodist  Church  on  Skellingthorpe Road  in  Lincoln.

It is, we know, not always easy to take that first step but be assured that those who do often discover something good about themselves. As new members in the past have commented :-
''I didn't realise I could get so much enjoyment from singing '' and '' I didn't know I was good enough to sing in a choir before''

We also have a lively social life  with our summer BBQ, Choir Dinner and end of season gatherings to which all members and their wives or partners are cordially invited.
